		<abstract>The hydrographic basin is the main territorial unit of planning and management when it is spoken about erosion, soil management and conservation, environmental planning and water. In this context, the use of geoprocessing tools become indispensable for the diagnosis of environmental issues, from monitoring to environmental planning. In this paper, geoprocessing technologies were used to analyze the use and occupation of the permanent preservation areas (springs and watercourses) of the Rio do Peixe hydrographic sub-basin, with drainage on a scale of 1: 5,000 . The basin includes some municipalities close to Goiânia - GO, comprising a large part of the territory of the municipality of Caturaí, being also, the basin that comprises the river that supplies the same city. The results found in the mapping and the analysis of the APPs indicated irregular use %, with the use mainly by pasture and agriculture (perennial and annual), being able to compromise the quality of the water resources, fauna, flora and mainly for the public supply, besides the environmental problems related to the absence of APPs in the watercourses.</abstract>
